Hi everyone!

The Forbidden Forest is almost done, but we'd like to give you the opportunity to contribute some rooms in the meantime.

All the usual rooms apply, of having the submission in quote form and thus. More info here: http://lumos.mugglenet.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3546.

Don't worry about continuity with other rooms (though it's always appreciated), the Forest will be wide enough to picked up enough disconnectd rooms to fit yours. Very Happy

Also, they are obviously not mandatory, but here are a few ideas to use:
- The Forest will be boarded on one side by the Lake.
- One corner will touch the Hogwarts Outer Wall (wall around the Grounds)
- One border will run by the Hogwarts Grounds and even not to far from the Whompig Willow and the Gamekeeper's Hut.
- One part of the forest will be inhabited by the Acromantula, another by the centaurs, etc.

Hope you have fun building a few rooms for the FF!

Xchyler, please look at our building guide and at the others thread here, so as to know what we are looking for in terms of submissions. You are right, here's not the palce for story, but for describing an environment.

Quote:

thunderous waterfall. feeds the lake below. the dark blue color of the water enlosing everything it touches. Behind the mouth of the waterfall lies a series of caves dark and mysterious never before discovered, lit only dimly by glowing mushrooms. the walls covered in a thick furry mosss.

any better?

Hello! the format we're looking for here is the same as for the Room Contest.

Also, if you have a look at our Rules adn Regulations, you'll have a better understanding of the do and don't of our submissions. Very Happy

Name: A Lonely Forest Corner (no idea what it should be called)

Location: Forbidden Forest

Description:

A narrow, overgrown path winds its way between the dense trees. This is a forgotten part of the Forest, deep inside its boundaries hidden from the outside world. The eerie darkness is mottled with odd spots of light where this manages to penetrate the thick canopy. A dirty, dusty floor is home to the occasional ant or beetle, with huge trees growing straight up out of it. These stretch in all directions forming an impenetrable jungle with no distinguishable features to any of it. Navigation is almost impossible, you don't want to get lost here...

Extended description of [don't know what to extend] :

Echoes:

A solitary ant scurries about its business on the forest floor.

A twig snaps somewhere, causing you to jerk with alarm, you look, but nothing is there.

A rustling of leaves as a bird takes off in the distance.

Hi!

Nice room here, thank you!

If you want, you can add a peculiar-looking tree with a hollow, then extend it.... maybe a passage to some underground cave? Wink

Thanks Noon.

Extended description of Forest floor (could be used in conjuction with quest to find something for example) :
The floor of this part of the forest is just dry and dusty. Little rain penetrates the forest canopy here so it rarely gets muddy. There is no life except for the occasional ant scurrying about its business. A few leaves lie around as do a few twigs, but apart from that the ground is bare.

Echoes:

A solitary ant scurries about its business on the forest floor.

A twig snaps somewhere, causing you to jerk with alarm, you look, but nothing is there.

A rustling of leaves as a bird takes off in the distance.

-----------------------

Name: Passage to Underground Cave

Location: Forbidden Forest

Description:

This is a small, narrow, tunnel that runs to a secret cave, deep under the Forbidden Forest. Moss lined walls of dirt curve around you. Out of the walls peek roots of the various trees of the forest above, but these grow sparser as you delve deeper. The tunnel is dark, empty and rather spooky.

Extended description of [don't know what to extend] :

Echoes:

The steady drip of water runs through the tunnel.

------------------------------

Oh, and Noon, I think I'd like to join the Building team, if you think my submissions are good enough of course.
