Olivia Jayne Lawton Dyer
Name: Olivia Jayne Lawton Dyer
Gender: Female
Birthdate: June 26, 42 years old
Short description: a middle-aged, frizzy-haired woman
Physical Description: A trim, middle-aged woman stands very straight. Her unruly, shoulder-length, honey-coloured hair falls free from a messy ponytail. Her mouth is formed into a forced smile while she looks at you with shrewd green eyes, measuring you up physically and socially. Her arms are usually crossed, except for when she’s taking measurements or selecting goods for her customers. Her hands are slightly off-colour from her olive complexion, due to many years of dying fabrics, and she has calluses on her fingertips.
Personality: She has a passive-aggressive personality. When she feels the need to retaliate or exact vengeance on someone, she does so quietly and in a behind-the-scenes kind of way, usually messing with their order or by spreading rumors. She is always polite to her richer customers, but secretly despises them and talks about them behind her back. She usually thinks poorly of the poorer townsfolk, with the exception of the Ikin family. Having read a lot during her time at Hogwarts, she is a wealth of useless knowledge and every once in a while spouts a random anecdote.
Character History:
Olivia Lawton was born on a sheep farm outside of Lavenham England to Muggle parents. She grew up among the animals and learned to shear the sheep at a young age, then spin and weave the wool into fine cloth. Her family first realized her magical talents when she was 9 years old. She was spinning a bale of wool and noticed that it would change colour according to her moods as it ran through her fingers. Her parents started manipulating her feelings depending on what colour they wanted. If they needed red, they’d make her angry; yellow, they’d make her happy; blue, they'd make her sad; etc.
Other than the odd reactions in the wool, her childhood was fairly normal. She had one younger brother, Nathan, who was her best friend growing up. Her family lived comfortably, though they were looked down upon as country-folk by the townspeople. Olivia and Nathan were homeschooled for most of their childhoods. Of course, at age 11, Olivia got her invitation to Hogwarts. She was a little nervous about going away to school, but fell back on her strong work ethic, quelling her homesickness by losing herself in her studies. Because of her constant studying, Olivia achieved fairly high marks across the board, her favourite classes being potions and transfiguration. During her stay at Hogwarts, Olivia’s family decided they would learn as much as Muggles could about the wizarding world. They were fascinated by Diagon Alley and spent most of their time in the robe shop, inspecting the various materials, wondering how they got the cashmeres so soft, the wool so warm and comfortable, the silks so smooth. Olivia’s father discovered, after some research, that there was a wizarding couturier in Lavenham. During the summer between Olivia’s first and second year, her father enlisted her help to contact the family. Olivia sent her owl (a Christmas present) over to the wizarding family, inviting them to dinner. To her father’s glee, they accepted and the Lawton family started scouring the house from top to bottom, preparing for a potential new client. Mr. Lawton intended to market his wool to the Dyer family, using his witch daughter as a major bargaining chip. Her skills at creating wizard-quality fabrics were forever ameliorating ever since she started attending Hogwarts, of new potions and charms. The library at the school turned out to be a wealth of information about the wizarding, textile industry.
A week later, the dinner date had arrived. The Lawton farm house glowed with a sheen that it hadn’t seen since it was newly built. They Dyers arrived on time, having Apparated onto the Lawton’s front porch. Olivia was in the kitchen, yearning to cook the dinner with magic than with the old Muggle gas range, which seemed to take forever. When she finally decided that she could leave the kitchen for a bit and entered the parlor, the rest of the world disappeared. This was her first glimpse of Taylor Dyer, the youngest son of the robe-making family. Freshly 19, a year out of Hogwarts, Taylor was starting to learn the ins and outs of the family business, his father prepping him to help his brothers around the shop. Olivia couldn’t understand why she was so taken with Taylor. He wasn’t particularly handsome, but rather plain, with a large nose, small mouth and eyes that were set a little too closely together. He was tall, almost too tall, and skinny as a rail. His shaggy brown hair was a little too long for her taste. He looked as though he didn’t really want to be there and paid little attention to the Lawton girl, freshly 12 years old.
The dinner went well and her father struck up an agreement with Jonas Dyer. Olivia would work in the Dyers' shop every summer home from Hogwarts, spinning fabrics and learning about the business. As she grew up, Taylor started to notice her and her summers home from Hogwarts became increasingly more enjoyable. They married as soon as Olivia was finished with school and moved into an apartment in the Dyer home. Olivia took great interest in the family business, while her husband didn’t seem to care. She quickly became the prominent figure in the business while her husband took to delivering the finished products. After seven years of marriage, she convinced her husband to expand the family business to Little Hangleton.

Neil Dyer
Name: Neil Dyer
Gender: Male
Date of birth: December 25, 1991
Short Description: Neil is a skinny fellow with brown hair.
Physical Description: Neil is almost 16 years old, standing at 6 feet 1 inches tall. His hair is rather genaric, light brown and ruffled, but he likes to keep it short and combed. Below his neatly trimmed hairline are his bright green eyes that beem like headlights when concentrated on something. The nose is pudgy, showing obvious Celtic heritage. Most of the time his mouth is in a concentrated position, but among familiar company, his smile is wide and warm. Although his skin is pale, he matches in with the rest of his peers and classmates.
Personality Description: Neil is quiet and shy mostly, but he has a fiery personality and is not a stranger to physical fights. He will argue and defend his beliefs with a strong and nearly unmatched vigor. His stubborn nature prevents him from giving up easy, which keeps him in high spirits most of the time. He would rather be working hard than lying around doing nothing. He is a hard worker and wishes to attain success. He has always had a dream of meeting a nice girl and starting a family with her, much influenced by the happiness of his parent's marriage. He tries to take criticism well, but often gets angry at even the most constructive and well meaning suggestions for his betterment.
Character History: Neil was raised to believe that he should be a salesman for the textile business of the family. However, he did not exactly do well trying to persuade people into buying Dyer products, as he was both shy and tended to voice his opinions very loudly. Thus, he decided that maybe selling was not his for him, and he remained unsure about what he wanted out of life.
While at Hogwarts, Neil keeps a tight nit group of friends, and that is just the way he likes it. Often times he can be seen wandering around aimlessly lost in his own thoughts. Because of his natural intelligence, he does well in all of his classes but has a fondness for Astronomy, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Charms, three classes he finds extraordinarily interesting.
As far as his family goes, he admires his father and mother, although he doesn’t want to necessarily go into the textile business, however much he wants to please them. He has two sisters, one younger and one older. He seeks to do as well as his older sister, who excelled in school and is a successful auror. His younger sister is in her second year at Hogwarts and is closer to her friends than Neil. |

Katrina Dyer
First name: Katrina (Kat) Dyer
Gender: Female
Date of birth: 03/17/1993
Short Description: slender, tall, dark-haired teenager
Physical Description: Her dark brown eyes gleam almost black, yet never seem to lose their light and her shy smile never fades. She hides behind her shiny black hair that hangs just below her shoulders, cut in choppy layers with bangs that cover half of her face. Her skin glows with a natural tan and she stands at the height of 5'9". Unusually tall for a girl of only 14.
Personality Description: Although, shy by nature, Kat always seems the first to laugh at every joke. When she gets to know someone, she crawls out of her shell and becomes another person. Kat always tries to be the bigger person, whether its holding the door open for someone else or letting someone have the last slice of pizza, she doesn't seem to mind. Her only downfall is the tendency of always having to be right. Her competitiveness can be downright scary at times and she hates when her judgement is challenged. Normally she would never hurt a fly, but if you're the first to throw a punch, then you better watch out!
Character History: Born and raised in a little town just outside of London, Kat lived with her muggle father and her older sister. Her mother, a brave auror, had died years ago, during the reign of Lord Voldemort. Her father worked as a police officer, enforcing laws and strict rules even at home. When Kat received her letter from Hogwarts, her father almost didn't let her go, worried that the same grim fate of her mother would befall upon her. But after many hours of begging and persuasion, Kat was sent free, hopping on the train 9 3/4 finally on her way to becoming a true witch.
Kat was quickly sorted into Ravenclaw, joining her older sister who was in her last year. She realized she had a certain knack for casting charms and an amazing talent for drawing. She soon found herself spending many hours with a quill in hand and then charming her masterpieces so that they would move.
Despite her shyness, she made many friends from all four houses, although she was never really a part of the "cool" group. Becoming popular was the last thing on her mind and she always accepted everyone for who they were, no matter what.
Tragedy struck during her third year at Hogwarts, as she received word from her sister that her father had been shot and killed by a drug dealer. Kat was completely devastated and the Headmaster allowed her to leave the school for a time and get resettled.
Now an orphan and in her fourth year, Kat spends her vacation breaks visiting her aunt in Little Hangleton, not wanting to stay at her old house with her sister and her new husband. To many memories of her dad still lived there and she's not sure if she can finally face the fact that he's just not around any more. |

Margaret Dyer
First name: Margaret Dyer
Gender: Female
Date of birth: January 27 -- 15 years old
Short Description: a young, brown-curly haired teenager
Physical Description: A coltish teenager stands very tall. Her unruly, chestnut brown hair is tied back in a presentable ponytail that wants to come apart at any moment. She has an easy smile that lights up the room when she uses it, but tends to be seen in deep thought or with a frown on her face when she thinks nobody's looking.
Personality Description: Maggie is easy-going and makes friends easily. She doesn't judge people like her mother or care about a person's status or riches, but who they are on the inside. She takes her mother's advise with a grain of salt as experience has gotten her into trouble when repeating the rumours when trying to verify them.
Character History: Maggie grew up in the Dyer family and raised with her father's good work ethic and values. She picked up weaving as easily as her mother, but knows weaving isn't what she wants to do for the rest of her life.
While attending Hogwarts, she has found a world beyond weaving and has become great at Transfigurations, Charms, and enjoys Defense Against the Dark Arts the best. Her strong work ethics has helped her get top grades in all her classes. Her easy-going manner has given her an opportunity to make many friends in Hufflepuff. When she comes home now she can be found dreaming when she should be working.
Maggie has always looked up to Jennifer, but has found each time she comes home from school, she is acting more and more like her mother. She has found herself not confiding in her big sister anymore, but talking to friends about her problems. |

Chad Dyer
First name: Chad Dyer
Gender: Male
Date of birth: Sept 22, 15 years old
Short Description: a boy of medium built with short, honey-brown hair
Physical Description:
A boy with short, honey-brown hair stands here. He has green eyes and has a rather pale and sickly look. He has a slight smile that looks more like a frown. He looks younger than most of his peers despite having the body of a regular fifteen year old.
Personality Description:
Chad is quiet and finds it difficult opening up to others. He is a boy a few words yet extremely observant and is able to pick up skills quickly. He is rather emphatic and polite. He has the maturity far beyond his peers. However, he shys aways from crowds and becomes tense when placed in unfamiliar situations.
Character History:
Chad was born and raised in the Dyer household. He had a rough childhood due to a weak constitution yet he hardly complains about his misfortune. He was often kept indoors to avoid falling ill and spent most of his time roaming around his parents' shop, occasionally performing some light chores for his parents. Otherwise, Chad plays around with the fabrics found in his parents' shop.
He is much closer to his mother and his siter Amelia and confides in them when he feels down whom where rather protective of him in his younger years. He had few friends in Little Hangleton and was commonly known as 'the indoor boy' by the other children. However, because of this he has a slight inferiority complex and shows a lack of confidence.
By the age of 10, Chad had shown quite a flair for weaving and tailoring. And at the age of 13, he started collecting the waste ends of fabrics in the shop and uses them to make miniature clothings. However, his mother thinks that he has a rather unusual sense of fashion and style. It is a pity that the fabrics that he weaves are only blue in colour. He takes weaving as his hobby and make clothes with the fabric he weaves for the few close friends he has.
When he had just started schooling in Hogwarts, his grades were mediocre as he had difficulty settling in. But over the years, his grades had improved fairly well. He had also grown much happier over the years and had made a few close friends whom he can confide in. He is set to take his O.W.Ls soon. |

Jennifer Dyer
First name: Jennifer Dyer
Gender: Female
Date of birth: May 16 (19)
Short Description: A petite, blonde, hazel-eyed woman
Physical Description:
Jennifer has the same slightly frizzy, honey-coloured hair, much like her mother. She usually wears it tied up in a pony tail. She has beautiful hazel eyes, open and caring. She carries a large grin, with not-quite sparkling white teeth. She has soft hands, with long and slender fingers, and an olive complexion.
Personality Description:
Jennifer is polite, but doesn't fake it like her mother does. She tends not to judge people, but she dos not generally care about poorer people, or even the rich. She only is friends with the Ikin family, and a couple others from other families. She listens carefully to her mother's useless knowledge, trusting that it is true, or that it is some sort of wisdom. She helps spread some of the rumours her mother starts, talking to customers when they come into the store.
Character History:
Jennifer was born in the Dyer household, and brought up with their beliefs and values. She had a relatively normal childhood, but her parents seemed upset at first because she did not show the talents that her mother had. She felt like she was being shunned, so she worked with some wool one day, trying to prove that she could spin and weave well. She tried for a long time, and eventually, she got frustrated. She decided to try one more time, and, to her surprise, the wool started turning blue, then green and yellow. She showed her parents, and they set her up to work, spinning the colours for the cloth.
When Jennifer went to Hogwarts, she realised how many different jobs she could have, and how many things she could do. But she was happy working with her family, but, her teachers told her, it might be best to get a second job.
Jennifer graduated with flying colours. She was almost the top of her class, had been a prefect and head girl. She returned home to work with the store. (by then her parents had moved to little hangleton.) She continued to work with the clothing, getting better and better, creating fine fabrics. Jennifer worked there for one year, still making the fabrics, but now she measures and fits the fabrics on everyone, becoming very good at making clothing. She still trusted everything her mother said, but had become more like her mother, judgemental and not as friendly. She was still friends with the Ikins, but it was becoming a strenuous relationship. |

Fuller Dyer
First Name: Fuller

Date of Birth: January 17, 193 Years Old
Short Description: A dark-brown eyed, fit looking man.
Physical Description: His 5' 8", fit body always seems to wear a smile. His dark-blue eyes dilate like the pulsing water through the fierce ocean. Blemishes do not trouble him and his skin is a smooth creamy color. His hair is very dark-brown and wavy.
Personality Description: A very nice, fair man. Willing to help anyone in need. He never quite shed his shell of childhood and is still very messy and untidy.
Character History: Growing up in a textile mill, Fuller quickly mastered the art of sewing. He often got bored of his job and pranked his younger siblings. He once sewed the youngest Dyer son, Taylor, into a silk coccoon overnight. His parents were growing apprehensive of his ability to take over the family buisness when he was sent off to Hogwarts. As he returned home over holiday and during the summer, his parents noticed his behaviour was slowly changing. He was still the untidy mess they had always known him as, but they now knew he could control his wild ambitions. Fuller returned from home from Hogwarts when he was 18, planning on furthering the family's buisness. He tracked down his youngest brother several years later, only to discover he now lived in a small, wizarding village called Little Hangleton. After hearing of Taylor's success in Little Hangleton Fuller decided to move in. He fit right in with the rest of the family, the children loved him! He did great work in the store and could often perform enchantments on clothing that the rest of the family couldn't. Fuller met a young muggle named Debby Wal and quickly fell in love with her, they started dating and may become married soon. |

Amelia Jacqueline Dyer
First name: Amelia Jacqueline
Gender: female
Date of birth: Unknown
Short Description: A tall, dark-hair young woman with hazel-green eyes.
Physical Description: A girl in her late teens stands before you. Her short, straight, dark brown hair reaches just past the back of her neck. Her face is delicate and her expression is confident, though her hazel-green eyes set in an olive complexion indicate amusement. She is tall and fit, showing a few comfortable pounds of excess, but is easily concealed with her carefully selected wardrobe, which she usually makes herself.
Personality Description: Amelia is an expressive creature. She is loud, and talkative and is easily befriended. As Olivia’s daughter, she has learned to be observant, but tends to keep her judgments to herself until they develop a bit more. She is smart, and amicable and the customers have started to enjoy her services as she is beginning to become a more important figure in the Dyer Family business. Olivia sometimes frowns upon her general approval of everyone, but has no doubt of Amelia’s love her family. She thinks her mother and siblings can be a bit silly, and tends to poke fun at them and try to keep them in perspective. However, in her eyes, her daddy can do no wrong. Having her eyes on the Dyer family business, Amelia has become increasingly ambitious and is learning the undermining ways of her mother for her own purposes.
History: Amelia was born to Olivia and Taylor two years after Jennifer. She grew up being at her mother’s side most of the time, becoming Olivia’s little helper. When she wasn’t helping at Dyer’s Cotton, she was playing with Jennifer and Sean whenever they let her. She preferred to be in the shop most of the time, where she got to talk to everyone and meet new people. Her mother would sometimes have to hush her up, not wanting her to be too friendly. Olivia was a strict parent in some aspects. She wasn’t allowed to play with just any child. Amelia was naturally friends with the Ikins and their grandchildren, and she only made other friends when she was able to keep it a secret.
Amelia finally had full control of her social life when she went to Hogwarts. While Sean and Jennifer offered a hand to get her settled in, the three of them eventually kept to themselves and their groups. It wasn’t until Sean’s 7th year did they all become much closer and shared mutual friends. While in school, Amelia generally did well, excelling Charms and Transfiguration and doing well in other subjects regardless of preference. Her last two years at Hogwarts were difficult for her. Along with the usual teenage drama, she was unsure of her position with the Dyers. She had researched many other career options and had spoken to her Head of House on several occasions. Ultimately, she realized that she loved Dyer’s Cotton and that she could help her mother bring the business to a more reputable level. She had learned everything there was to know as a child, and now she was a full witch. Now fresh out of school, Amelia returns to Little Hangleton with ideas to regain her spot as her mother’s ‘little helper’. Now all she has to do is fix the ‘little’ part… |
