Peotr Vladimir Pushkin

First name: Peotr Vladimir Pushkin
Gender: Male
Date of birth: January 1st, 1900

Short Description: A grizzled, stinky, old man

Physical Description: A bent old man stands before you. His flat, gray hair hangs past his shoulders and he wears a dirty gray mustache and beard that covers most of his chest and stomach. His bushy eyebrows partially cover his faded, reumy gray eyes that seem to bore into anyone and everyone around. He is missing the pinky finger of his right hand while the rest of his large, knotted knuckles speak of heavy arthritis. His hair is heavily infested with lice, numerous ticks, and other parasites making a feast of his body. He wears several layers of ragged clothing and keeps his hair long and unkempt to try to help hide his severly thin and wasted frame.

Personaliy Description: Peotr, known as Papa to many of the people of Little Hagleton, is a kindly old man for the most part. He is congenial and does not tend to judge people on their outer appearance. If someone is rude or abusive to him, he is not opposed to striking back, however. When ired, he does have a rather harsh temper and tends to hold grudges and slights for a long time.

Character History: Peotr Vladimir Pushkin was born on the first day of the twentieth century in Vladivostock, Russia to two proud, pureblood parents. His gift of divination was discovered early one when he predicted the death of both of his parents and the Boleshivek Revolution accurately. The fulfillment of his prophecy about his parent's death when he was twelve shattered the hopes of what had been a bright and cheerful boy. His inheritance allowed him to attend Durmstrang, from which he graduated the year of the Red Revolution. He served the forces of Mother Russia through the first and second World Wars, applying his skills to spreading the cause of communism and to resist the encroachment of wizards of other political beliefs.

In the late fifties he was severly wounded during a combat with an Afgani wizard and spent the next six months in a coma at a wizarding hospital in Leningrad. When he finally awoke he told his superiors of a terrifying vision he had had while asleep. While to the outside world it appeared that he was in a deep coma, within his mind Peotr was struggling through the fall of Communism and dissolution of the USSR. His superiors were less than pleased with his proclamations and locked him away in a prison in Siberia for the next twenty years.

Eventually he was released, but having no money and being ostrasized from wizarding circles of the Soviet Bloc for his doomsaying, he slowly wandered west, finally joining a small band of gypsies and rogues as they traveled through Germany, Austria, and France. He made a living as a roustabout and fortune teller with this group for over a decade, mostly hiding his magical heritage from all those around him. It was in the mid-90s, having overheard some of the stories coming out of England about the Death Eaters and their, at the time, enigmatic leader, that Peotr had his second great vision. While he has never told anyone all of the details, he has shared that it concerns the future of the wizarding world and that it centered around the town of Little Hagleton. Feeling compelled by this vision he left his troupe and made his way across the Channel and through Britain, finally arriving in Little Hagleton one week before his one hundredth birthday.

The children, muggle and magical alike, where the first to notice this bizarre homeless man as he wandered about the town, getting a feel for the place and pulling together materials with which to build his little shack. He made simple predictions and told stories for them in exchange for snacks or pocket money. Eventually tales of this strange old man with knowledge of the future and stories of the past reached the word of several of the magical adults in the town. From this Papa Pushkin has developed a small, but regular clientele of children and young adults who come to consult him on decisions, or ask him about his long and storied past. For most people willing to overlook his poor personal hygiene and ramshackle lodging, he has proven willing to dispence advice and warnings that often prove helpful.

Since his arrival he has waited, quiet and ignored by most of the population of the little town. He awaits the arrival of signs that only he has seen. Signs that will point out to him what form this great change will take and what his role is too be in it.

A note about Papa Pushkin's divination ability: Papa Pushkin has, on at least three occasions, had Seer-like visions of world shaking events. Two of the three have come true. His power does not normally appear to allow him to predict individual impacts and significant events however. The only times that he has ever had true visions of an individual were before the numerous personal tragedies that have befallen him. Even with this advance warning he has proven unable to prevent any of these things from happening. This has lead to the development of a very fatalistic view of the future. He uses his considerable acting ability to try to cover this and performs regular divinations (tea, card, and fire reading for example) for most of his irregular client base.

Veronica Gya

Name: Veronica Gya
Gender: Female
Date of birth: April 11, 1986

Short description: a tall, dark haired, blue-eyed girl

Physical description: A dark haired, ice blue-eyed girl stands at 5’7” with long legs and a long torso. Her thin frame adds to her height giving her a model like physique. Her skin is fair but not pale. Her full lips keep a red color without lipstick, as do her cheeks. She has high cheekbones and a defined jaw line. Her eyes are almond shaped and lined by long black lashes that turn up at the ends. Her hair falls past her shoulders and is a deep shade of brunet, almost to the point of being black, with long waves. Her eyes are a shade of icy blue. She owns a pair of square, black frames, which she uses to read. At times she appears to favor her left leg, resulting in a limp.

Personality description: Veronica presents herself in a different manner than she actually is. Ronnie’s natural personality is fierce, strong, and opinionated, but she purposely keeps a calm shield around her character in order to do her job well. Ronnie is sly and cunning and a rational thinker in times of panic and stress. Despite her cool aura, Ronnie craves action and excitement and becomes depressed and mischievous when she's deprived of it. She rarely voices her opinion and prefers to act rather than waste time debating. Usually when Ronnie is silent she is observing or holding her tongue. Ronnie is not someone who connects with others easily. Her job conditioned her this way. She’s what you would call “tough love.” Of course she’s friendly to her peers but prefers to keep to herself, especially since her job isn’t something to talk about at parties- or any other time for that matter.

Character History: Veronica Evalyn Gya was born in Manchester, England in 1986 to a pureblood family. Ronnie’s family wasn’t wealthy or prominent despite their pureblood lines. They were what you would call an average family living average everyday lives. Ronnie, the second youngest of five, often felt bored by her surroundings and grew to dislike her controlling, large family. She was relieved to leave the house when she was accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry even though two of her siblings were already there and another was on the way. She found it easy to avoid them due to the fact she had been sorted into Slytherin while the others were spread out among the different houses; two in Gryffindor, and the youngest in Ravenclaw and the eldest had been in Hufflepuff and had already graduated the year before Ronnie attended Hogwarts her first year. She had a gift for Potions but found she enjoyed Defense Against the Dark Arts more. The class took more effort than the rest but it was in her character to always be up to a challenge. Ronnie, thankful to be away from her parents, was nice to anyone who wasn’t her family and was generally trusted and liked by her peers, though, not liking special attention, she never did anything to stick out from the rest.
She graduated in the top ten of her class and moved on to work for a special branch of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Her job consisted of high stress, secrecy, and a bit of spying. Ronnie was known by her superiors by her technique to combine an amount of martial arts and logic with magic to carry out her missions. After a year and a half of training in the Department she performed her first mission alone. Her assignment was to spy on a group of supposedly high ranking members of a Death Eater like organization. She posed as a bartender in the pub the men were meeting but unfortunately one of the men just “didn’t trust the blue of her eyes.” In truth he had been tipped off by a source (which is yet to be revealed) and was told to watch for a girl with ice blue eyes. Ronnie’s cover was blown and during her escape she was shot in the knee with a painful hex by one of the men and only escaped thanks to the help of a stranger. The stranger turned out to be Brian Cameron, a young wizard and supplier in the Black Market. Though her knee healed thanks to the help of St. Mungos, the boughts of pain Ronnie recieved in her knees prevented her from continuing her service. She declined the offer for the position of secretary and moved to Little Hangleton to avoid her family and consider what she should do with the rest of her life. When Brian contacted her a week after she moved she met with him and agreed to help work the Black Market in her Region of England. For Ronnie it was the best way to get some excitement back into her life. Her new job consists of spying on deals being made and assuring Brian that none of his people were lying to him. Brian said he could trust her word because of the blue in her eyes.
Ronnie has lived in Little Hangleton for a little over a year and finds she likes the town. She applied for a job in a local family's, the Eccletons, bookstore. She usually keeps to herself but doesn’t come across as unfriendly and knows the names of everyone in town. She usually doesn’t find time for relationships but finds the oldest Dalton boy kinda cute.
